Covid doesn’t care about how many active cases there are, it takes the same amount of time of full lockdown to reach 0 cases.

Having arbitrary “scientific” thresholds to enter/leave different levels of “lockdown” just prolongs the pandemic. The only “safe” threshold is 0 new cases.

There is no scientific reason why having a lot of cases makes it harder to lockdown, there is no scientific reason to act like the pandemic’s “already too far gone” to act.
